A Letter from our Director

In 1983 a group of creative, thoughtful individuals founded Prairie Creek Community School, a school where children could learn at their own pace, follow their interests, and discover their voices. It was a school where parents could feel at home and where adults and children together could learn to value differences and care about each other so that they could make the world a better place.
It was quite a dream!

Today we continue to live out that dream at Prairie Creek, a public charter school since 2002. We respect childhood, allowing children to unfold at their natural pace, in a setting that honors that development. While we value work, we also value play, recognizing that play is the work of the child. We allow children to explore, create and discover, knowing that this is how they make sense of their world and shape their own learning. Our school is a place of joy, discovery, invention, questioning, caring, community and learning.

We are delighted that you are interested in our school. We invite you to come and visit. We think you'll agree with us that our children are truly excited about learning.
